Three Objectives

The Vascular and Interventional Radiology Foundation is intent on furthering VIR development in Asia, for which it has set three realistic goals:

1. To establish and maintain a VIR research and training center in Hong Kong

2. To organize VIR training courses and hands-on workshops in Hong Kong

3. To organize an annual international VIR conference in Hong Kong

Training & Research Center

A regional VIR training and research center is a pre-requisite for long-term and on-going development. It will add impetus to VIR advancement by providing:

1. Regular structured courses for doctors, in Chinese and English, and hands-on practice in animal and simulation-model laboratories.

2. A pre-clinical laboratory for research and development of innovative therapies which focus on diseases endemic in Asia.

3. A convenient venue for regional medical conferences and academic meetings, with facilities catered for teleconferences and live demonstrations of VIR procedures.
